We had a reservation confirmed for 9:30 because of a time concern) and arrived at 9:15 and waited until 9:30 for valet access, which required us to need to leave by 10:40. When we arrived they did not have our table ready and were ushered off to the bar to wait, and were not seated until 10:10. We had to really rush our dessert, like how fast can you eat your cake, which was not really fun. The valet service was impossible to drop the car and were forced to move to a side lot down the street and walk back to the location not horrible), but when you are expecting to drop at the door it put a damper on things. The one way in/out was not a great idea. We were forced to move off the main street...

We went for my daughter’s birthday and food seemed to be different this time, from before. Our food was very salty, i did say something and they worked with me which was very nice, and also my daughter’s food was very salty as well but she didn’t say anything because she felt embarrassed to say something, since i said something before. And it was her Birthday! She didn’t even finish her food , our waitress tried to box it for my daughter, but we said no. It was very salty………. Pretty Expensive Plate too. Been there so many times before and loved the food, but this time ? it wasn’t good.
I take my staff out as a thank you for all their hard work they do through our busy season. This is the 2nd time we attended the Bees in the D Fundraiser Dinner at the Whitney, and it did not disappoint! The Brians were there, as well as the chefs and the sommelier, giving the descriptions of the foods and wines we were tasting. We are foodies and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. No pics of the food, only got pics of the experience this time. I'll try to remember to get better pics next year.
Waiter and dessert was a joke. Bananas foster boozy milkshake. Torch for creme brûlée was covered by crown royal bag? Our waiter didn’t know they name of the miniature desserts. What appeared to be a shortbread/ sugar cookie, was just a cookie with some type of filling according to our waiter. Waiter said he didn’t know the desserts because he was on vacation for 3 weeks. Was supposed to be a night to celebrate my wife’s birthday, instead it was a major disappointment and waste of money. Book a table now
Brunch was delicious!! The people were excellent, the height of service and I found them very friendly, too!! The mansion is a gorgeously maintained historic building! A bit pricey and fancy, but definitely worth a special outing now and then. Vegetarian options: Mac and cheese, potatoes, scones and desserts, fruit salad, mushroom rice, egg dishes Vegetarian NOT vegan Parking: My sister and I used the on-site valet parking for $10, super easy!
We decided to order Pre Fixe lunch. The shaved prime rib sliders were crazy good. Fries arrived soggy, Alexi was quick to remedy that issue as well as my wife's displeasure with the smelts. It was less than four minutes before fresh, crisp papas fritas with prime rib sliders to replace her smelts were on the table. Service is always excellent, and well, it's The Whitney [nostalgia]. Right? Parking: Valet. Why do anything else?
The chocolate Kailua cheesecake was phenomenal but the carrot cake was a little dry and had cake frosting rather than cream cheese frosting or even butter cream. The ambiance is exceptionally traditional and authentically historical so your grandmother will love it and your parents will be impressed but your edgy recent college graduate friends may think you’ve “changed a lot since graduating”.
The dessert was delicious and the service was great. The ambiance was unique. My only complaint is about our Open Table reservation. The Parlor was not open on the day/time we made the reservation! Big mistake on Open Table's side of things, but the staff was able to fit us in. Book a table now
Sept 14 they knew the Ceasar was defective from many diners but just let it go. It should have been pulled from the menu. Not even served on a chilled plate it was absurd and worse they knew it.
The garden was beautiful to look at… when you what through that big front door you automatically feel like royalty ?
