while in london central on the business of nz, we happened on the larrik randomly late on a Sunday night. who was just roasted at night! while my colleague enjoyed the juicy roast chicken, I had the porklingel with a hendricks...G’n’T the meal was extremely generous in the size, tasted amazing and the service so good that the three of us visited again during the week this time in the chicken and leek pie. I visited the larrik for the first time for a weekend brunch with some friends. it is a relaxed and friendly pub and as far as the ambiente goes, it was the ideal place to live on a lazy Saturday without feeling the pressure of turnaround times, queuing or icey service. on Saturday there was a pleasant amount of bringers, enough of a crowd to give an atmosphere and not so much to expel us. we went for an evening meal in the week and the place was packed. we had booked for the good before the hand. I had a cake and my husband had a burger, both were very good. the service was pretty slow, but very friendly and we could see that they were incredibly busy. good music, not too loud, will go again!
I live near the larrik and often visited past, but only last week since post-Covid restrictions. it was very disappointing - eating was not great, overpriced and the menu selection was limited. also the music was so loud that it was almost impossible to talk. it'll take a while until I leave.
