Great location. Surprised to see a Cafe just inside the door. Had veal Parmigiana, but there was no cheese and sauce on top, and smaller than expected. Modest not of the fat chook size. For a cappuccino with 3 shots, it was overly hot, and not so much froth. Miss the hotel being called the Old Lion Update: 22/12/2022: Went for lunch with family. This time I used the mryum app. Found the Chicken Parmigiana, to be a tasty and fulfilling meal. The waiter was happy to fill us in on the changes to the building, the removal of the ballroom, but that the cellar remains, and is available for private functions.
This pub is just next level. Craft beer on tap, an in house wine shop, great bistro with outdoor seating and live music out the front and the most amazing fine dining restaurant I’ve ever come across in a pub. Have been to the restaurant twice this week and couldn’t fault the food, the amazing staff and relaxed atmosphere all while sipping on a local oat stout from the bar before sitting down for the most amazing feed I’ve had in a while. Thanks Lion Team, see you again real soon. No staging required for the photos the food speaks for itself.
Great cocktails fresh meals, vibrant dining area with inviting function area, incredibly modern beer garden bathrooms The only reason this is Not 5 stars is because their app ordering system can sometimes either be slow, an error of not allowing you to select certain foods on the menu when it was available 2 seconds ago or sometimes forgets your beer all together leaving you waiting for more than an hour and have the bar staff be annoyed at us that wed come to the bar as we were still waiting on our bear we ordered through the app
We had a fantastic evening at the restaurant. The chefs and staff were so accommodating and kind. They helped me with my no garlic and no onion FODMAP dietary requirements and produced a delicious meal. Thank you to all the staff for your kind attention and service.

Good joint having a pub vibe on one side with a good bar, plenty of areas to chill with lots of drink options. Then the dinner area is a bit more high end, really good food and wine selection. Our waitress was excellent, super friendly and funny. Well done
10/10 Amazing restaurant! Its a really big place, we ordered waffles and smashed avocado. The waffles weren’t like the other cafes, not as sweet but it’s perfectly fine. The smashed avocado was definitely worth getting.
Stayed close by and it was an easy and quick walk down for breakfast. The Lion is a great place for breakfast and the meals were well presented and delicious.
nice outside. fish was fabulously fresh one night but dry and slightly smelly when ordered again for. lunch. very impersonal service. no table service.

I had the gnocchi and it was so delicious. I’ve never had gnocchi that was as velvety and melt in the mouth. Highly recommend.
Nice venue, quick service and large portion sizes. Food was very average though.
