I have been to the Beeston Lobster Pot, so I was expecting great quality but this still exceeded expectations. We ordered a few starters to share which we unfortunately forgot to photograph. They were all very good, especially the Haddock Chowder. For main course we ordered the Ultimate Seafood Platter which had delights of lobster, clams, crabs, prawns and oysters. The lobster had a choice of sauces and we had the cheese option this time. We enjoyed the evening tremendously, not only because of the marvellous food but also because of the magnificent service, which was friendly and informal, making things very comfortable. Service was excellent and we're not writing the place off yet will be back one more time to try the seafood platter. But our food order wasn't great tuna steak was very dry (overcooked), the mussels were in a far too oily sauce that caught the back of your throat and made you tear up, and there was almost no prawn in the toast (you expect large prawns when at a restaurant rather than your average Chinese takeaway). It was also pretty empty, so I think they're struggling, and I heard someone else complain about the Tuna too. Still had a lovely evening but food let it down... hopefully seafood platter will be better.
Honestly the best overall experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The food was stunning, the service was second to none, and the atmosphere was cosy, relaxing, and fun. I went for my birthday and they made it feel extra special with little touches I wasn't expecting. Would highly recommend this to anyone who likes seafood. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
