I have enjoyed The Local twice now in a week. Some friends invited me to brunch last weekend and I knew I had to treat my partner to it this weekend! I enjoyed the Eggs Benedict with crab cake my first visit. For dinner this weekend we enjoyed the Seafood risotto, Lamb shank, seasonal vegetable for the day (grilled asparagus) and the grilled oysters. Quality of the food was amazing. Lamb was tender and full of flavor. Vegetables cooked perfect. Seafood risotto also made perfect firm but still soft, smooth and creamy. You could see every bit of lump seafood in your meal. I was so excited to try this restaurant. My husband had reserved a table in the dining room but were put in the room with the long bar right near the door that kept opening. There was only one other couple in this room at the time. I asked to be moved and the waitress did move us one table away from the door. My husbands drink was beautifully made. The main issue came with the food, I ordered the crab cakes and what I got was 2 hockey puck shaped gray, gritty crab cakes. They were not lump at all. I was disappointed with the food. The beet salad tasted like it came from a jar, and the oranges were equally unimpressive. The roasted honeynut squash was just as underwhelming—an unappetizing pile of bland, mushy food with no distinct texture. Overall, the meal fell short of expectations and felt entirely overrated. I certainly won’t be returning.
The food was decent, but it didn't quite justify the price. We enjoy treating ourselves to a nice dinner (and we were mindful of the prices here beforehand), but this experience was only mediocre at best. We've had far better meals in the Baltimore area for the same price or even less. On a positive note, the service was excellent!

Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Harford County! The food is incredible, and the service is exceptional! I'm a huge fan of the refined dishes and the fantastic drink options. The Beef Wellington is a must-try!
