Stopped in for a fish supper and was so disappointed. The batter was so thick and greasy and not cooked on the inside because of the thickness. The fish inside was tiny but seemed fresh and the chips had two hairs on them. We fed more or less the whole lot to the seagulls and they certainly enjoyed it. Cash only and the place is just not up to the standard of the traditional Northern Ireland chippy...
The fact that theree was no one else in cafe should have been a sign. On entering we were told coffee machine was broken maybe assistant hoped we would leave we asked for two 7 ups. We got oneb7up snd a cup of tea. The tuna melt had about a teaspoon of cheese no garnish, no offer of sauces or anything burger tasted okay and was served with a few chips cheap enough but will no charm wont be back
Avoid this place at all costs! You might think you're getting a large portion of fish, but it's actually mostly thick batter and extremely greasy. The fish is brought out pre-cooked from the back of the shop and fried in the front, making it a complete waste of money. I regret not going to the chip van in Glenarm instead.
This is a great wee chill shop with great quality fish and chips and the rest that goes with it!! Everything is freshly made on site with good quality produce!
