This pub is a disappointment considering its great location. The drinks are pricey, on par with venue prices. The food is subpar, with the Cajun chicken burger being dry and flavorless, and the fries overcooked - chunky chips would have been a better option. The quality of the food does not match the high prices they charge, which are around £15 for dishes that could easily be made for £2. The only positive aspect was the beer, Abbot, which was decent despite being a bit flat. The exterior of the pub looks rundown with cheap and mismatched seating. I would only recommend going for a drink in the future, and even then, I would be hesitant about the prices. It's a shame that such a good locati...

The location is nice, the staff not particularly friendly (perhaps because it was a busy and clammy day) and the food is nothing but barely edible. We selected the vegan option for the Sunday roast and we were served 3 vegan sausages and 3-4 roasted potatoes lost in a very wide plate (surely ideal for the classic version, still not easy on the eyes) each. The trimmings included boiled and flavourless green beans, peas and carrots in very limited amount. In contrast , the bill was excessively expensive. We still regret stopping there
Lovely day on the river ending up in this place for lunch. Not bust but weather was good so sat outside by the river for a drink and some food. Bar is small inside but staff are friendly and seating isn't an issue. Parking might be difficult at times but it's a quiet pub by the water. Meal came quick enough after ordering and portions were spectacular, well presented and hot. Thoroughly recommended and shout out to the staff who were impeccable
Been here a couple of times for Sunday roast and always had a great experience. The food is delicious, varied drinks choices and friendly service. The prices are like everywhere else, post-pandemic, unfortunately. The only way to avoid that is not go anywhere, I find.. The pub itself looks like it has a lot of history and character. I have nothing but good things to say! Book a table now
I stopped by for a quick bite to eat while out for a walk. Being solo, it can sometimes be quite daunting but the welcome I received was lovely. I'm not a roast fan. I know. How can you not like a roast? It was pleasing to see other options available. The scampi basket was well presented and plentiful. A nice glass of white wine to go with it too. I'll be back.
Don't know what everyone else is complaining about this seemed fine to me. I admit it's expensive by pre pandemic standards for the Midlands but they're completely normal for a village pub in 2023 to the eyes of this southerner. The beer was excellent, the staff friendly, the garden compact but scenic, and the soup exactly what I was looking for.
We had our wedding reception here and asked for a bespoke menu for our guests. Steph pulled the menu off excellently. We had so many compliments about the food. Emma and her team also couldn’t do enough for us! Thank you to everyone!
This pub is fantastic, but the drinks are outrageously expensive. I paid £11.75 for a pint of San Miguel and a glass of wine, while at our local spot the same drinks would only cost £9.70. It's just not worth the high prices! Book a table now
We had pre-ordered and arrived with a group of 12 people who had just been on a canal boat. The service was fantastic and all of our food requests were accommodated. They even provided us with a private room for our group.
