"Absolutely lovely little pub/restaurant overlooking the marina. Chowder Moules were delicious and enormous portions. Beer also relatively cheap"

Sadly, I wish I could have given The New Port Arms a 5*. The food was good but two of us had to wait quite a long time for our meals to arrive, by then the rest of the party had eaten. The last remaining meals, one had some of the items missing that had been on the menu the other meal wasn't what had been ordered. Two of the other meals also had things missing. Overall, although most of the meals had been pre-ordered they weren't correct and it was a long wait for two of the guests. It had been a special get together that was tainted by the chaos of delay in meals and meals not being what was ordered. The Sunday roast at this restaurant is excellent, as are the lovely staff and the beautiful marina setting. I dine here regularly since I live nearby, and every meal is consistently of the highest standard. For me, the roast is the standout dish and truly embodies a top-notch traditional Sunday roast. I highly recommend the fish and chips, with the fish being huge and incredibly fresh, and the batter perfectly light and crisp. The Jamaican Fish Curry is also a delightful option. Please keep the Sunday roasts on the menu! Thank you, Sue Schofield. P.S. The homemade horseradish sauce is the best I've ever had, made with love like all the other food here.

Food was ok, fish ‘n chips and a Club Sandwich. Not a great view to be fair, sat alongside a dry dock with engineering works being carried out. Average wine selection, but pitiful beer selection. Staff friendly enough, but all orders have to be at the bar, so if you want a second drink, it’s back to the queue whilst your food goes cold. If you’re there just for a coffee, great, but there’s better within 200 metres.

Food was basic. Not bad. Service sucked. Stood at the bar and trying to order a drink and was ignored. Everyone served before I was. Was going to tip but then thought staff didn’t derive it. Won’t go again or recommend.
