8 of us descended on the pub, I've not been here for a long time and we went because we wanted to try their smoked meats. If you want to eat BBQ out, this is the place to go. We have some nibbles to start, the Pig Candy and Pig Jowl both fantastic. The dinner, three of shared two 2meat and a 3 meat tray so we could try all the meat. Only meat we didn't try was the beef short rib, but I imagine that will be just as amazing as the other meats. I love the food from Oddfellows arms so much but I mostly get it delivered. Last night my fiancé and I ate there, however, and it was fantastic as usual. He had the Cajun chicken burger and I had the blackened Cajun chicken. My meal was so delicious, the chicken is almost melt in your mouth tender and so flavourful. It was my fiancé’s first time eating in the restaurant and he said it wasn’t how he expected. You ARE eating in a busy pub, and it isn’t a place for a quiet dinner on a Friday or Saturday night. This restaurant had a confusing and dated atmosphere, with bland decor and odd decorations. The music and TV loops added to the strange vibe. Despite the odd setting, I was hopeful that the food would make up for it. Unfortunately, the pig cheek starter had a strange taste and the beef brisket main course was disappointing. The beef was tasteless and the sides were unimpressive. The presentation of the meal on a tray lined with grease proof paper was strange. Overall, the meal was a letdown and not worth the price. I would not recommend this restaurant.
I’ve been here 3 times now for dinner and each time has been amazing! The staff are really friendly and accommodating, and always helpful if you’re not sure what to order. I’ve tried different things on the menu each time and everything is wonderful, but our favourites are the brisket, salt and chilli short rib and the Mac and Cheese. Will definitely carry on visiting!

We hosted my husband's 60th birthday party at this restaurant on Sunday, January 15th and we were extremely pleased with the level of service. Everything went seamlessly and the food was delicious. Our guests were impressed with the quality of the dishes, especially the smoked meats platters. I highly recommend this venue for any special occasion.
We come here on a fairly regular basis. The food is lovely especially the ribs. Great value for money. The staff, Hannah Sarah and Steve always very attentive and friendly and you can have banter with them. Always a good evening when we visit
I have visited this restaurant numerous times and have also ordered from Deliveroo. It is my favorite spot in Chelmsford. They serve amazing smoked meat that, in my opinion, is even better than Bodeans in London.
Great food that is properly smoked and full of taste. I had 5 things off the menu and I can’t honestly say if there was a favourite part as it was all fantastic. I will be going back to get through all the menu.

Attended with a group of friends who were all eating and everyone said the food was fab. We had a variety of food from small plates to mains and everything was well cooked and tasty. I loved the halloumi fries.
The menu clearly marks gluten-free options. The staff is well-informed and friendly. The BBQ is top-notch. They also provide delivery service through Deliveroo.
