The Old Clubhouse - Table reservation

I had been to this restaurant before and enjoyed it, so I decided to come back. However, it seems like there has been a change in ownership or chef since my last visit. The menu was very limited with not much to choose from. I decided to order soup after seeing the other dishes coming out looking unappetizing. Unfortunately, the chicken was cold, the vegetables and salad were soggy, and the chips were undercooked. What really put me off was when I saw the chef picking food off the floor and putting it on a plate while I was in the restroom. Fortunately, we had already received our food at that point. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the overall atmosphere at this restaurant. The interior was lovely. I don't understand the negative reviews as we didn't encounter any of the issues mentioned. Despite it being busy when we arrived, we were served in a reasonable amount of time. The Venison Burger was delicious. We were able to bring both of our dogs with us and it wasn't a problem. There were other dogs in the pub as well, and everyone was welcomed. The price per person was between £10-£20.

Had dinner here on 2 nights whilst staying at the local holiday park. The food was fantastic, would highly recommend. Probably best to book in advance as it’s quite small and you wouldn’t want to miss out. We will definitely be back when we are next in the area again

After taking a long detour from Campbeltown to reach this bar for lunch, we were disappointed to find out that the scampi listed on their website menu was unavailable. Overall, we rated the food a 3, service a 3, and atmosphere a 2.

The pub was cosy, and the grub was served in very generous portions. Unfortunately, there was no real ale on tap.
