There are many generic pubs these days, so it's refreshing to come across a place like this one. It's warm and comfortable, with a real open fire burning during our visit - everything a pub should be. We enjoyed scampi and chips, fish and chips, a pint, and a chilled glass of white wine for lunch. The bartender was friendly and helpful, but not overwhelming. I highly recommend this place. One standout detail is that our meals were served on hot plates - a small touch that made a big difference. Cold plates for hot food should be banned. Thank you for that.
Called in for a few pints whilst staying over in Altrincham. Paid contactless card for pints of Timothy Taylor at £3.95 each over a period of a couple of hours. All was good until 2 weeks later when the Bank Statement arrived and one of the transactions had gone through at £33.95 instead of £3.95. Not saying it was done deliberately and I know I should check more carefully but still very annoying. Lesson learned for the future.
We ate and drunk there on 2 consecutive nights. Good range of dishes from pasta, pies and puddings, burgers, steak and fish. There is a warning displayed that all the pies are freshly cooked and take 30 minutes. Well worth the wait. excellent helpful bar staff as well. If you are in a large party, I would recommend phoning ahead and reserving a table.
We've just had a fantastic meal, my husband had Cumberland sausage and mash, with green vegetables, I ate 5oz gammon steak, onion rings, chips,salad . . The presentation was amazing, couple on next table had steak pie wow!!! I highly recommend this venue, its friendly, cosy and good value.

Absolutely Love it, highly recommend it this little pub for lunch and good beer outside garden it’s really nice, food was delicious more than expecting!! Chefs and front of house was very friendly and helpful definitely coming again this weekend ;
Excellent Sunday lunch from the Smooth buttery mash to the beautifully soft melt in the mouth beef. All complimented with veg Yorkshire and roasts. Highly recommended and one of the best. Thanks
