Once more we have attended the training restaurant The Orange Tree and had another superb experience. The staff and students always make us welcome and the restaurant itself is warm, comfortable and inviting. The food is as good as it gets...and after working in hotels and restaurants for 50 years, I KNOW a good meal when I have one. I just love proper, traditional cookery methods, and this Chef is teaching his students exactly this concept. The menu is well thought out and well balanced...it is worth remembering the students are training here and not experienced restaurant managers, so a little patience is required. The hospitality manageress works well with the head chef and this reflects...
We attended a Christmas Luncheon here yesterday after also having been and eaten at the Indian and American Diner special lunches recently on offer at The Orange Tree. We LOVE the enthusiasm of both lecturers and students...and shall continue to support them all. My successful career was in the catering and hotel industry ..over 40 years of happiness it gave me, and I also trained at a college training restaurant many years ago. Everyone has to start somewhere ... and the college here has a fantastic facility in The Orange Tree Restaurant. I just LOVE the fact that ALL the food is fresh and and each and every dish is carefully made from scratch....and is delicious. Every single thing we have...
We and our daughter visited the Orange Tree Restaurant for Afternoon Tea yesterday. We received a warm welcome from the Foundation Learners and shown to a table which had been reserved by us. After having placed our order for tea or coffee we were served a Selection of Sandwiches together with Parsnip Crisps, Yorkshire Pudding filled with beef and a dash of horseradish sauce, a Sausage Roll and Mixed Salad. This was followed by an Assortment of Cakes and a Scone with Jam and Cream. The Quality was excellent and the Quantity was more than ample. We enjoyed the Afternoon Tea so much that we booked another one for next week. The Foundation Learners provided a very friendly and helpful Service....
My wife and I visited the Orange Tree Restaurant for the second time as we wanted to taste the March Menu, which has a limited choice. My wife opted for the Grilled Marinated Mackerel as Starter, followed by Roast Chicken as Main Course and Poached Rhubarb as Dessert. I chose the Duck Liver Pate, Roast Chicken and Bakewell Tart. The food was served within a reasonable time by friendly staff. All of the food was well presented and was of excellent quality. Compliments to the Chef and kitchen staff! We can highly recommend for anyone to try this Restaurant after having booked a table prior to the visit.

Had a great little visit here today for the first time. A warm, happy reception. Polite friendly service. You can see all the young staff working hard in the kitchen. We had a Chinese lunch buffet. 3 courses for 9 pounds. No problems food very good, really good quality, presented well. Serving staff lovely but seemed a little shy. If your reading this you were great and i hope you get a confidence boost. Very accommodating and better than many many restaurants I've been too. Well done all. Also the afternoon tea sounds a treat.
We visited tyhe Orange Tree at TCAT for the second time to try the Black History Lunch Menu. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were allocated a table near the window. We opted for the 3-course Lunch accompanied by wine and finished with a cup of coffee. The Food was well prepared and very tasty, served by friendly and efficient Staff. We enjoyed the Lunch so much that we booked further meals in the coming weeks. We have no hesitation in recommending the Orange Tree to family members and/or friends.
We have just returned from The orange Tree for the second time in the two weeks it has been opened up again. Absolutely First Class ...really enjoyed both weeks visit for both the food and the service. I had Seared Cured Salmon Celeriac Charred baby gem, soused cucumber parsley liquor to start with. Followed by.... Roast Cider Glazed Free Range Pork Buttered greens an apricot, almond sage stuffing pie.Vanilla Panna Cotta Spiced plums tuile biscuits
We visit the Orange Tree monthly to see what the new menu has to offer, the food and service is excellent and unbelievable value. Perfect for us as we are retired, it's a nice quiet restaurant. We bring our friends and will be back for the themed evenings.

The Orange Tree is a training restaurant on the Telford College site on Haybridge Road. The service is to a high standard and the food is extremely good, even better bearing in mind the very reasonable prices. Strongly recommended for a Friday lunch.
We been to the Orange Tree several times now and have had some fantastic food. The portion sizes are generous, food is tasty and the service is very good. Highly recommended.
