Don't go by! This is an iconic hole in the wall restaurant. It does not look like much from outside, actually not much on the inside either, no food in - just the kitchen and cashier. The order is filled while you wait, and then go. The proof is packed in food fruit, rich flavors, fresh ingredients and in a fabulous bakery crust. You will put this on your list of musts when you come to the area, or if you live here, it will be a weekly. Yum!

Go... I said go. This mom pop type is here, on Katella, for... forever! Various owners, but always the same product since the 70s, yes, I was in the 70s. Pastries, hand-held cakes, beef or chicken with cube potatoes and a little carrot (a good mixture, not over stock). A little salt pepper for me and ketchup, and you have a meal in your hand that is different from your typical burger or sandwich. Bring something home for the family.

I first tried pastys there in 1964 when I worked in Los Alamitos. There a tasty treat for lunch everyday. They were 50 cents or a dollar then when my pay was $1.65 per hour. The original owner was a great man and a pillar of the community. I also went to high school with his son. They have my full support. Just wished I could stop by today but we now live in Arizona.

? Used? Good luck? I think they sold the business and not the recipe. I've gone twice and I haven't even eaten it. Sad. You really need to try better before I go back.
