Where do I start? From the moment we walked in I knew we’d made a terrible mistake. There was a very strange, awkward welcome from a young lad who thought he was hilarious by welcoming us in his very best Spanish accent, to the cheap and nasty lightweight cutlery and paper napkins. As we were already there we ordered just starters to test the water. At this point we were told we had to order our main to which I said I didn’t want to. We were then accosted by the same waiter five minutes later insisting we ordered our main. I again said we didn’t want to and we didn’t want to be forced to either. Tried booking on line no response, took a chance we drove from Birmingham to Manchester booked into The Midland Hotel. The Bistro was recommended by friends. My wife tried phoning from Manchester, automated response. I tried phoning an hour later 'NO ANSWER ' automated response. we will call you back was the recorded message. [Jokers] We decided to drive to the Bistro on the off chance. Still no return phone calls to either of us. One minute away, I received a phone call, which was surprising because I phone nearly an hour after my wife, yet they phoned me first, not my wife still no confirmation of booking online. Shocking! Lost a customer, sort yourselves out.

Sunday dinner was awful, pork was over cooked , watery carrot and swede , cauliflower cheese was just cooked in cream, no trace of cheese! Peas and ham in cream, no taste except just cream ! Parsnips shavings , would have just preferred roasted parsnips but probably because the other veg wasn’t very nice. Pudding was the smallest sliver of roulade which was basically sponge with lemon moose . Sorry it Very disappointing .

My recent visit to Pavilion Restaurant in Bury was nothing short of exceptional. The monkfish and prawn curry was a taste sensation, and Iain, our waiter, was a true professional. The attention to detail and overall atmosphere made this an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended!
