After seeing Rede on TV a while back, my partner and I decided to visit this charming village. Following a trip to a nearby plant centre a few weeks ago, we stopped by Rede for a drink. The menu board caught our eye, especially the seabass dish, so we made a reservation for the weekend. Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the landlord and his wife. We ordered our starters and mains and were shown to our table with lovely views of the gardens. The atmosphere was quiet, with only one other couple who were regulars and spoke highly of the place. Our starters were delicious - I had the ham hock terrine with crusty bread, while my partner enjoyed the whitebait. The mains, seabass with pas...

We dined at The Plough on the first Sunday after it reopened under new management. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience. My husband's beef was mostly fat and some of the vegetables arrived late, while others listed on the menu had to be requested and only came out after we were nearly done with our meal. The plates were not heated, causing our food to quickly become cold. Overall, the experience felt chaotic and we felt that the meal was overpriced for what we received. The Plough has since closed again due to fire regulations, but we hope they will reopen and strive to reach the standard set by the previous owners, as we have always enjoyed great food at this pub in the past.
The Plough at Rede should be on your Christmas wish list . We visited last night with friends for a pre Christmas meal and catch up . The pub looks absolutely stunning , really festive with the beautiful decs hanging from the beams and cosy with the fire burning . Food and service is spot on , so much choice from the blackboard , great selection of wines displayed behind the bar . All four of us had different dishes and they were all fantastic. I so wish this pub was in my village as it’s exactly how a village pub should be , friendly, welcoming, great beer and food .
Intimacy, romance, character, quality…this place delivers on every level. With the frost outside and burning fires within, every element combines to create atmosphere impact. Few pubs have all the ingredients to create memories I’ve experienced just a handful, but know the score and this one certainly does just that. A decent menu, excellent cooking, simple but delicious food…Add in the stories of the ghosts who allegedly sit alongside you and a night to remember is guaranteed. Book a table now
Visited this pub based on reviews on here and we were not disappointed. The pub is in a small village off the main roads but well worth searching out. The portions were generous and food was prepared beautifully. We had a range of dishes and they were all good. The people running the pub were lovely too. My only surprise was that it wasn’t busier! Definitely will go back
I had a wonderful dining experience at this charming countryside pub. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, the menu was diverse, and the staff was friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal here with a friend.
A delightful country pub with delicious food and excellent service. Very generous portions and wonderful deserts. We visited twice during our stay nearby and it was great on both occasions
Excellent food, extensive choice and beautifully presented. Efficient friendly service, cosy traditional pub with a relaxed atmosphere. All in all a really lovely time was had by all. Book a table now
Great food, friendly staff. Roast dinner was hot and good choice of veg. Meat cooked to perfection served to us by 2 young ladies, very polite. Would visit again most definitely.
