Went to the recent reopening as a long-time fan of The Pod. The food is always different, and always inspired. Service is genuinely warm, as the pricing is humble and inclusive. The restrictions for COVID were very clear and easy to follow, and we felt very at ease during the lunch. The Menu is carefully selected, guided by dieticians, and for Vegan food out, hands down the best balanced meal one can get in Coventry, possibly even the Midlands, in my experience. There's no judgement or vegan propaganda whatsoever, and carnivores, pescatarians etc will not feel shortchanged in the slightest by the offerings. It was so great to be back at The Pod Cafe after all this time and I was definitely not disappointed! Had a delicious lunch of mushroom ragu and creamy polenta with a side of marinated eggplant and tomato. The food was so tasty and followed by a scrumptious slice of victoria sponge cake. Yum! One very happy vegan : Loved the new lunch set up of a set meal, drink and cake for £8 such good value for money and worked really well with the timings and my lunch break from work. Having said that the card machine wasn't working and they were so kind to let me have the meal for free not wanting to disappoint customers. Such are the lovely people at The Pod. A regular visitor and fan of the Pod I was delighted to be able to get back this week. What a welcome return. A Mediterranean Stew served with a generous slice of warm herby focacia was delicious, rich and filling. A slice of carrot cake with cinnamon and a little hazelnut crumbled on the top was properly indulgent. All accompanied with a bottle of homemade lemon and thyme lemonade, perfect for the Mediterranean vibes. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great tunes, great ethos (much of the veg is grown by the pod but that's only 10% of the story) I could go on but I reckon you get the picture... It was so good to be back at this lovely café after so long. The Mediterranean stew was so tasty and the homemade lemonade was a nice touch, everything tastes so fresh every time. Andy served us and had a chat with us before we left, everyone is so friendly in there and you can tell they were glad to be back as well. Sadly for them their card machine broke so they kindly allowed us a free lunch! We'll be sure to pay them back next time, can't wait to visit again. Thanks!
It was fantastic to get back to the Pod after so long. We received a warm welcome and everything was very covid-secure. Our lunch of roasted cauliflower and black bean curry followed by cardamon cake/sponge cake (one of each, so we could taste both! accompanied by iced chai, was absolutely scrumptious. Much of the food at this cafe is grown at a local allotment which means that it's both fresh and delicious. It was so lovely to be able to return. Thank you!
I learned about this place through recommendations and decided to visit for lunch today. The restaurant offers delicious plant-based food in a welcoming atmosphere. The Pod has limited hours, so I recommend checking their Facebook page before visiting. The menu for the day can also be found on their Facebook page, and today there were two main course options available. The Pod provides great value for the quality of food they offer.
This was my first lunch out in 2021 with a friend. The service was friendly and my anxiety about being somewhere other than my home in over a year soon disappeared. The food though is the real star gorgeous clean food with some produce grown at their allotment site in Coventry. Cardamom cake for pudding was a delight. Cannot wait to be back. Thanks all. We had a delicious lunch of Mediterranean stew with focaccoa and carrot cake for dessert. The homemade lemonade was refreshing. Their card machine was down and ended up having a free Lunch! The guys working there were so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this establishment.
