The Railyard - Table reservation

Hoo boy. I was super excited to try this place out while spending the night in Decatur. My girlfriend had been raving about a different local eatery but after some research, we decided on this. First off, it's a cool place that's somewhat underground. That said, there's a really funky smell in the place. If you park on the main street, you'll be entering from the rear and have to walk the length of the restaurant to meet the greeter. The positives; our server was very personable and friendly. The beer selection and bar are both solid. Our appetizer, chickarones, were fantastic. The negatives; it smells pretty bad in there. First, I travel ALOT and I rarely post reviews. I have to applaud the owner for the group of employees he has hired. The bartender (I wish I had asked for her name) was very knowledgeable and efficient. I love a bartender who takes the time to wipe the wine glass. She really knew the dinner and drink menu. Her recall was unbelievable as well. Now on to the food; the New York strip was VERY good. Not spectacular, but not expected to be. The smoked provolone mac and cheese was AWESOME! The brussel sprouts were as close to awesome as brussel sprouts could be . The best overall experience in a long time. Give them a try!!!

One of the best restaurants (maybe the best) in Decatur. The menu changes, the beer selection changes, but always consistently amazing. Make sure to try the Founders Imperial Octoberfest when they tap that keg!
