The venue itself is beautiful. Really lovely pub as so many are in Bath. Unfortunately the reception we had from the girl on the bar downstairs was unfriendly, boarding on rude. Had to wait for our table which was 20 mins late, which I understand on a busy Sunday is often the case not easy to turn the tables. Roast dinners were okay, nice Yorkshire pudding which came regardless of what meat you ordered which is a nice touch. We ordered the extra potatoes at nearly £5 which was a little pricey. Out of 5 puddings, only 2 were available. Again they were fine but nothing more than that. For two people, both having two courses and a pint and a half of Pepsi each nearly £90 stung a bit.
Went to Bath with the family for the day out and heard about the Huntsmen off a friend. Our servicer was a very tall man with glasses who delivered exceptional service. He explained there may be a wait for food which was fine, he also showed us the allergy QR code which was well presented online. When the food arrived it exceeded expectations, the fish and chips were brilliant. However the tomato soup was not a hit with my partner. Overall a good meal with fantastic service, will definitely be recommending this pub to my friends.
Dinner had to be sent back twice. Once it was cold, like veg not even warm. took over 20mins for replacement to come. Manger didn't say anything just ignored us. Second time, they'd overcooked it, totally inedible. By then it was nearly 10pm! Not once did the manager approach with apologies left it to the poor waitress. Very unprofessional and I'd definitely discipline that manger. It was just awful and I must say I was surprised.
Have been here a few times now. 1st time for being seated upstairs in the restaurant. Lovely clean decor very friendly staff down in the bar and up in the restaurant. Even tho we only wanted a lunchtime snack we could still eat up in the restaurant. Really recommend the fishfinger sandwiches served with chips as well. Also the tomato and basil soup well seasoned Thankyou for making yet another visit so lovely

I had my wedding reception here on 19th August 23. The venue itself is stunning, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Jacob in particular was always on hand to help. The night was very special and I couldn’t have picked a better place to have it. I would definitely visit again and recommend them for venue hire! Really great team.
We only came to this pub because our first choices were fully booked for Sunday lunch. However we were very glad we did! We were upstairs, in a very comfortable environment. Fabulous staff member I think he was the manager) served us a superb Sunday roast. Totally recommend.
These people cook their food in RAPESEED OIL, which is highly allergenic. I was ill in bed for three days afterwards. Be warned!

Stopped for a pint and it was very pricey, even for a tourist place. The lady at the bar was lovely though and very friendly.
We had a super roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner in upstairs dining room. Very attentive service.
