this place is a jewel. it is full of history and it has been renovated and restored with dedication, knowing, skill and very good taste. eating is excellent and the service is excellent. in my opinion, the red lion in soham is already on a par with another great cambridgeshire restaurant, the old fire engine house in ely (it could be a connection between the two! . many congratulate and thanks to lucy, peter and all the others who soham have given a food house with so magnificent standards. our visit today was a first: it will not be the last and it is just a short walk away from home, which is another bonus.
Fantastic date night! The staff answered all of our questions about the me u without hesitation or needing to ask the kitchen, my drink looked and tasted brilliant and the toilets were clean and tidy! The food, now that was om another level. The portions were perfect and not too filling. The flavours were a sensation and the menu options were great. The environment was spacious and welcoming. I couldn't fault a single thing. Thank you
The food was absolutely 5 star delicious. Presentation and service , the same. The restaurant is classy with a welcoming atmosphere and the room temperature was perfect. The prices are in line with the levels of service , food and surroundings. Can’t wait to go again. Lovely perhaps some gentle ambient music would add to the atmosphere we did find ourselves whispering as it was a bit quiet.
We went for a Sunday lunch family celebration. Couldn't fault a thing. Food was lovely, fresh and full of flavour. Staff were very accommodating as one of our party were gluten free. Great choices of wines on the menu . Just wish I ordered the roast potatoes!.......they looked delicious. Highly recommend. Book a table now
First meal in the red lion last night it was lovely. Been in for drinks a few times loving this place. It's been along time coming a decent restaurant in this expanding town. I think it's taken a lot of guts, dedication passion to get this old building looking amazing. Think I could be a regular visitor.
everything is perfect. the building is amazing, the staff very friendly and eating was really good. a beautiful afternoon spent there. the house red wine is one when the best red wines we have been drinking for a long time. very reasonable too expensive thanks to the whole team.
the restoration of red lion is provided only by the service and the beautiful food. the wee menu is comprehensive, and while the menu is not huge the meal times we had of the highest quality. well done to all involved.
had an excellent Sunday roast lunch with family. great pint of ghost, delicious wine, bark meat was perfect, dee was very delicious! will absolutely return! Book a table now
