We have been to the Refuge numerous times. I had to leave a review after our bad experience last night though. First gripe was with the speed the food came out. We felt rushed from the time we sat down and to me that is unacceptable for a restaurant. A pet peeve of mine. They had a wedding starting the time we arrived so idk if that was why but i can't stand to be rushed through dinner. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and it came out in literally two minutes. I came here several years ago with a group of friends and we absolutely enjoyed our dinners. So, when a friend from the very same group and I decided to catch a movie down the street, we chose to come back. It didn't disappoint! First, the restaurant's Halloween themed decor was really cute. Second, we got to see the nice outdoor seatings and we almost wished the weather was warm enough to sit outside. Third, our foods were fantastic! We shared a guacamole with chips. Couldn't stop eating them. Then, I had a grilled churrasco. I asked the sauce on a side. The steak was marinated well and cooked perfectly that I didn't need the sauce. we went to the hello dog brunch. that was our first time, it was a great experience. eating was good and the server was very helpful. the only disadvantage is that there was only one server that helps everyone who was out with the dogs, it should be more server but overall good experience.
I would call the restaurant more of a great bar scene than restaurant. we had diner and that was decent. the menu is limited in the selection, large beverage menu. the restaurant plays music very loud and it is difficult to conduct a conversation. overall not sure if I would return.

eating is great, the atmosphere is great and I never had bad service. the outside area feels private and another one is in alignment.
Y'all charge $3 additional for ice in a drink ?? Can I bring a cooler of my own ice ?? Maybe sell to other patrons for $2
