We booked this venue thinking it would be a smart wine bar, with small plates of food and a good ambiance. At least the website and reviews appeared to suggest that. However, there were only 2 other customers there when we arrived, half the candles on the tables were lit and the music too loud for an empty bar. The service was just OK and the food had been reheated in the microwave. Being virtually empty on a Friday night says it all. A friend had warned us against it saying it was dingy and unpopular . Disappointing!!!
Visited this bar twice on Saturday, it has various beers on which, my friend likes. The bar was quite quiet which, we were pleased with. We managed to get served very quickly and get a seat in the window. Lancaster was busy as the sun was shining and it was a very hot day. The bar was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I really liked what they did with old beer cans. They’d actually put a small plant inside it which was really nice. The beet was nice and cold just what was needed.
we had a great evening in crypt fri 26jul 19. the service was excellent, courtesy very friendly staff that could not do enough for them. the cocktails were absolutely delicious! eating was very good, my only criticism was that 2 dishes we wanted were not available and this was early doors and would have understood if we were to eat later. would definitely recommend this place.
The venue is fantastic, with very friendly and helpful staff. The selection of beers on tap is excellent. I visited the pub on both Saturday and Sunday. The manager kindly turned on the TV in the upstairs seating area so we could watch the Rugby World Cup games. The sound was kept off to not disturb other patrons.

Very pleasant pub. Refreshingly relaxed atmosphere. Very friendly staff. A pub you would not feel uncomfortable going in by yourself. Will return when I visit Lancaster again
The beer at this restaurant is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic! The barman is very friendly and even helped out by providing a phone charger for the husband.
I had my 40th birthday party here, the staff, the room, the food were all excellent! in so satisfied we booked here and would recommend it to everyone x
