What a great pub! A friendly welcome as we walked in, and great service all round. A fantastic selection of beers from local breweries The Chiltern Brewery, Windsor and Eton and Rebellion in Marlow. A nice touch was the beer being served in glass tankards with the pub name engraved upon. The food is also excellent we had the bread and olives, avocado prawns and squid rings. All superb! For mains, I had the steak and kidney pudding, which was a delight. The pudding wasn't too thick or claggy, and was packed through with big chunks of meat in a lovely gravy, accompanied by smooth, buttery mash and some greens. I was tempted into the Eton Mess for dessert, which was also fantastic. Special ment...

This old pub is amazing! It has two main halls, each with its own unique interior. The atmosphere is very old and beautiful, with warm fireplaces adding to the charm. We tried the Sunday roast and several starters, and the lamb was particularly fabulous. The portions were huge and the local beer was nice. The staff was exceptionally polite. Be sure to make a reservation online at least two weeks in advance if you plan to visit on a Sunday. Parking is free and the surrounding area is perfect for a leisurely walk. We will definitely be back!

The most atmospheric pub dining experience I have had, incredible decor as the place is 900 years old. Many of it is hundreds of years old but by far the most redeeming factor is the food quality, food here is expensive but it seems you get what you pay for. I have now visited 3 times and eaten different meals each time and all have been great. I always sit at the awesome table 1 although the sofa needs a new base cushion as its pretty uncomfortable other than that 9/10 best pub in and around London for sure

What an amazing location. There is so much history here and the atmosphere is unbelievable. Very cozy and inviting, the smell of burning wood in the fireplace lends a feeling of home, the food is delicious, the variety of beer is impressive and the staff is very hospitable. I can't say enough good things about this pub, you have to see it for yourself. 10 stars. Book a table now

Oldest pub in England with dated proff. Lovely staff, food was excellent, and every bit of the pub looked like a museum! We loved it, there a public footpath nearby for a walk (30mins or 2h full of birds and wildlife). We also learnt a lot from the lovely staff member available. Tried a new Scottish side dish and a fine ale! We'll be coming back for sure!

Such an amazing place, every corner, nook and cranny had something interesting to see! Plus the food was wonderful, from homemade sausages to hand-raised pies and some of the crispiest pork belly ever. 100% recommended. If we were close by this would be on our regular list. Book a table now

Made a stop here after landing at Heathrow. Cool, old English pub with great decor and decent food. The Braun was the best thing we had. Pints of beer were also good.
