When I first started going to The Scratch I was nervous the ever-changing menu meant I could never be sure I'd find something I like. I couldn't have been more wrong.The staff are excellent and always willing to help you select a drink you'll enjoy. The atmosphere in the bar is exactly what I'm after when I want to catch up with some mates over drinks. It's relaxed, comfortable and warm. The board games they have are always a good time too.Basically if you love good beer, trying new beers or hanging out with people who like either of those things then this is the place you want to be; also, the food is fantastic if you love free peanuts.
My husband and I stopped here as apart of the Foodi.com Beer tour. It was the first bar on the tour and the meeting point. We headed inside and were welcomed by the professional staff that you can clearly tell have a passion for the brew. We sampled 6 beers on tap that day and were treated to a great exploitation on each. The kegs are from small and local brewers and once they run out new kegs/beer are put on. So this place is a great stop to sample some different beers and be entertained with the knowledge from the staff. We did not eat here but I saw they had cheese plates available for order.
I truly love this place. Great beer, staff and fit out make for a great vibe. Love the beer fests, weekend of tartness is always a favourite... Sour beer heaven! It's also massively cool that they will do vego not dogs for the same price. Love it, love it! The only thing that's annoying is, it's so popular seating can be hard to find and you feel like a dick standing in the walkways... But it doesn't happen that much

An interesting little pub with a diverse selection and micro-beers and knowledgeable, friendly staff. An interesting aspect to this place that keeps the focus on the beer is the BYO food option - grab a takeaway from any nearby restaurant and enjoy it in bar.
The Scratch is amazing. The staff know their ****, and you won't find better beers anywhere else! You can bring your own food, or sometimes they have tasty things cooked up behind the bar - always with sensational vegan options too.
Nice drinks, friendly staff, an array of board games, delicious cheese and decent music. Perfect for a relaxed drink with plenty of seating both inside and out.
