The Shakespeare Inn is a traditional English pub offering a bed and breakfast service. Upon arrival we found the staff to be friendly and welcoming. Checking in was an easy process, after which we were shown to our rooms. The access to the rooms from the bar are via an external steep flight of stairs. This is not suitable for wheelchair access or for people with mobility problems. Our rooms were simply furnished with two single beds, two chairs, a small table, and a wardrobe. Tea and coffee facilities were also available. An en-suite shower and toilet completed the layout. A couple of points to note here. I recently visited The Shakespeare in July as part of our annual Woodbridge to Water Rat Pub Crawl and perused the menu. Impressed by the selection, I decided to book a table for myself and my partner in August. I had heard great things about The Shakespeare and was excited to try it out. The menu offered a variety of options such as grills, sizzling dishes, curries, burgers, and other mains. We visited the restaurant on a busy Thursday night. There was a bit of a wait for our food, but the staff were working hard and very apologetic for the delay. I ordered the king prawn sizzler, after trying the beef, chicken, and duck on previous visits, and it was delicious. My husband particularly enjoys the haddock and chips, which has now been changed to cod but is still just as good. We are always too full to have dessert during our visits.
We visited the Shakespeare Inn on the 1st October for my birthday. The service was faultless and the food was incredible. I had the beef chilli black bean sizzler it was delicious. Our friends and family also enjoyed there meals. Thankyou to the staff, especially Brett who went above and beyond for us! We will no doubt be returning in the near future for more lovely food.

Visited here last night very poor staff ordered wrong dish for my husband had to be returned so we ate our meals separately., not like it was the owners have taken their eyes off the ball with this place .. our meals were warm not hot .. glasses were dusty we won’t be returning
Had dinner here with my wife tonight. From start to finish the service was excellent, the food was of a good quality and appropriately priced. The drinks on sale were a good mix and the atmosphere was friendly and fun. We will definitely return at some stage in the future.
I ate here recently with friends on a Saturday evening. The pub was very busy, but the service was reasonably efficient. There's a good range of pub dishes on the menu, and prices are reasonable. Portions are large, and the food is good quality.
Staying in an air b&b in Jackfield, we had a lovely evening meal with great food and excellent service. Clearly a pub popular with the locals but we were made to feel very welcome. The food was excellent, well cooked and nicely presented.

First time visiting. The food was superb, generous portions, beautifully presented , tasted great. Good value for money. Choice of gluten free. My family and I had the roast beef dinner and the nut roast. Definitely will go there again.
