We have eaten before via Groupon and had a great steak meal with good service. When we arrived for this meal both staff were sat outside smoking we presume. This was a groupon. Attended a Christening Party here last weekend. I hadn't been for a while and was really disappointed with my visit then so was wondering what to expect. The Staff had gone out of their way to put decorations around the buffet area and the Staff...were very friendly. The buffet was gorgeous and plentiful with a divine cheeseboard. I found out that there is a new team of people running the Ship Inn and I could see the improvement that they have made there. There is an upstairs room for hire with a bar which has also been brightened up and looked great. A pre Northern League game Sat lunch at this newly re- furbed pub very nicely done too, that was offering 3 beers from a round the corner"brewery Roundhill. Porter, brown bitter were on, porter preferred very tasty, too. Pie of...the day was a proper pie a quarter of a large baked steak onion round pie no chefs hats on stew here, with mixed veg n chips making a very full plateful that was very tasty very excellent. Nice staff, nice banter, Wolviston's lucky to have such a cracker after disappointments in recent years, back to A1 form. Keep up those standards beer selections you'll go ok.
we used the upper floor space for a funeral meeting. the cold buffet was plentiful and excellent value for money. the room was recently decorated and a perfect environment for approx. 25 guests, although it could easily accommodate more people. the staff was very helpful and friendly and our family would no longer have asked. To be honest, I don't think I'd have been in better hands, which was a sad one.

We went for a family meal and catch up due to family members living out of the area. Couldn't fault anything about our experience. There was 15 of us and all meals were served together, all hot and delicious. The staff were friendly and helped...make it a fantastic night. Would recommend to anyone to go. We will definitely be going back. A night to remember. Thank you.
his years, since we last went to this pub, but I saw a good note on groupon so why not. our reserved table was beautifully decorated. the personal was really friendly. it felt like a special occasion. the steaks were cooked exactly as desired .surprising, as many kitchens think they do not know their own spirit and will always cook over. would definitely visit again.
Needs a update but staff good and they have good food offers different days of the week. Food not boil in the bag rubbish and what I have tried was good. Quality about right for the price, it won’t blow your Mind but you will...not be disappointed and good value parmo Fridays 2 for 15 pounds) Plus point for being dog friendly unlike the welly over the road.
family xmas meal for 12 was very good overall. service was good and eating came all together and hot. but was not so good. the egg served with various desserts was very bad. icy, bland with very little taste. even asda own brand egg is much better. so they do a cheap order cream with their dessert. not ice cream.

was a good value and cook a better quality than the well....the sold cook in the bag pub chain food....and terrible parmo is thin, pasty and small.
the beer is nice and cold but unfortunately so is the pub , hope they are going to crank the heat up for the cold weather coming !
