Hear me out. If you think Thai food here is good... you honestly have not ever tried good Thai food. The food here is average at best. Don't let the authentic Thai decor and ownership fool you. The physical vibe FEELS legit with all the pictures, but the food is terrible compared to good Thai places. It's overly sweet and the noodle texture is very off. They add too much sugar. It tastes like it's cooked with ketchup. Lasty, the service here is so bad (not saying I'm expecting good service at an Asian restaurant at all). Maybe I’m not fully familiar with the food culture here in Nashville, but my experience at Elephant Smile Thai Restaurant was disappointing. I’d give it zero stars if I could. The food didn’t feel seasonal, and despite the place being packed, I can’t help but think that people here just don’t care about fresh, flavorful dishes. Coming from Miami, I’m used to vibrant flavors and the option to customize spice levels to my liking. Unfortunately, this place didn’t deliver on either front. For a better Thai experience, I highly recommend checking out Pad Thai Cafe in Murfreesboro instead.
The smiling elephant property looks like a nice small cozy house by the side of the road. The food at this place is on point. They have a curry of the day which tends to be the best per their recommendation. The massaman curry, mango sticky rice, coconut custard and the rolls all were great. Food came out surprisingly quickly. Fried rice here is pretty good as well. It is a great place if you are craving Thai food. Service: Dine in
We pulled up and it was apparently closed. Instead of someone nicely telling, they got aggressive with us. Come on, the place was closed during open hours which was probably due to it being a holiday, that 's not a big deal. Just say sorry, we 're closed today and that 's it. The food here is absolutely delicious! Everything is fresh and has such depth of flavor. They’re also very knowledgeable about gluten free foods and have many options for those who can’t eat gluten. We purposely took bus and visited this restaurant after we saw all the good reviews on Google. But guess what, it was way beyond our expectations!!
