great service with competent and helpful staff and a very cozy atmosphere. some cool historical features in the building with old beams, hockey, tables etc. I read the oldest parts of the building up to 600 years. known as the anglers arms from 1896 to 1994, the first name is still in the bar. I loved the jennings sneck lifter ale on the train as plus there was even a small beer garden hidden behind the back of the bar.
After weeks of tracking down a good school friend of mine, luke seaton. Unfortunately he wasn't working but the guest ale was to die for and the atmosphere was simply fantastic! I will be back when I'm next up in the area! Get in touch luke!
classic old city pub, fair prices fast service, the renter had the gents in bits on Friday night, foot was on but jobs to do. well that they know that the beer lines are clean. I recommend the snecklifter
