I live on the near east side of Madison and it is a 45 minute drive from home to the Sow's Ear. Even if I just need a needle I make the drive to Verona. The Sow's Ear is the best yarn and coffee place around. One of their best qualities is their excellent customer assistance. Even if you didn't buy the yarn there and are having problems with your project they will frog down until they find your mistake, fix it and reknit back to where you were. I don't know of any other store that provides customer assistance like that. Of course once you are there you get hooked on their fantastic yarn selection and from then on buy all your yarn there. This is one of the most unique and wonderful coffee shops I've been to. Wonderful food and very friendly and helpful staff. If you're a beginner or expert in knitting or crocheting, this place is a must stop.
This shop is great, with gorgeous beautiful yarns, in every weight. Plan on spending more money than you intended, you won’t be able to stop yourself!
