I visited a charming pub with friendly staff, but unfortunately it wasn't a great option for vegans. I ordered the daily pasta, the only vegan main course listed on the menu. However, it came covered in cheese, so I asked the waitress to confirm if the cheese was vegan. After checking with the chef, she returned to inform me that the cheese was vegetarian but contained milk. When I mentioned I couldn't eat dairy as a vegan, she then discovered that the pasta also contained egg, despite being labeled as vegan on the menu. The waitress was apologetic and offered me limited alternatives like soup without bread (which contained egg) or a modified salad for an extra cost. I chose the soup, which...
Wonderful Staff and extremely accommodating. Held the wake here for my Grandparent's passing and whilst we seemed to be eager to feed the 5,000, the team advised and ensured that on the day no more food was provided, despite the over ordering. Lived in Putney for numerous years and feel very silly for not coming in sooner. Thank you for making their send off even more memorable
The Spencer has always been a fantastic neighborhood pub, but recently it has reached new heights! The updated decor and management have truly made a difference. The atmosphere is now incredibly cozy, thanks to the vision and ambiance created by the team, particularly Vasiliki who has a knack for setting the perfect mood with candles and dim lighting. Excellent job all around.
Great that you can sit on the tables on the common. And one of the only pubs where you can sit outside and enjoy the last of the sun. They bring food out to you too. Inside is missing that pub feel I think and could have a bit more of an ambience. Book a table now
I recently had a celebration with friends at this pub and was pleasantly surprised by the great vegan options available. While there is only one main course and one dessert, both were delicious! Much tastier than just having chips.
Stopped for a pint. Friendly staff. Nice views of the park and you can sit outside. Burger and a pint for a tenner ain’t bad though we didn’t try it as we are on to somewhere else. It feels open and spacious.
Cajun style half-huh and chips. succulent and tasty, not to perfection. not oily or oily as you would expect. chips were simply perfect! excellent value for money and highly recommended
