My second visit to The spotted dog. Family of 6 adults, attentive staff lovely atmosphere. Food very good especially the mains. However a bit disappointed by the shortage of vegetarian options. Just one starter hummus and two mains one of the pies of the day was a cheese potato pie and a butternut squash goats cheese risotto. I had the risotto and it was delicious, my daughter daughter in law had the pie which they also enjoyed. None of us are vegans but there was nothing vegan listed on the menu, although I’m sure if we’d asked something would have been offered. But a shame not on main menu. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will be back. But if coming with vegan friend...
Our first time visiting since it has reopened. Our table was booked for 7.45 pm and it was packed out. We were shown straight to our table given menus and asked if we would like any drinks, Very extensive wine list and plenty of choice for non-drinkers too. The quality of the food was truly wonderful, the staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the service was flawless. We will be going back and I can't recommend highly enough. I have also submitted this restaurant as a recommendation to bib gourmand as it is one of the best restaurants in the area.
We chose this restaurant because it was midway between our home in Leeds and our friends from the North East. The first impression of the place was excellent as it was nicely decorated and very clean. Even the toilets at the end of the evening were still very clean. The food was fantastic, with portion sizes that meant you felt satisfied but not over faced, and all at a good price. The staff were all very friendly and looked happy in their work. Well worth the journey.
I was a bit cautious as I had never eaten out at Christmas Day but what a pleasant surprise it was, the place was packed but the staff were brilliant, drink and nibbles on arrival, seafood started was amazing and the soup really hit the spot. Main course was cooked to perfection I really wanted it to be worse than I would make) Pudding and huge chunks of cheese to follow This is a spectacular hidden gem I will definitely have Christmas Day here next year

A great welcome by Sean and his front of house team, a fantastic atmosphere with great service, the food served was of a high standard and enjoyed by all, thanks to Ellie and her kitchen team. No doubt a lot of thought and hard work has gone into making this the new go to venue, great atmosphere, great service amazing food. Well done team Spotted Dog.

First time visiting this beautiful pub our first time eating out on Christmas Day! We had an amazing day, in a beautiful pub being served the most delicious food! Me and the family will certainly be back.

A group of 10 and we were rushed in and out. Food was good pub group but no better, the setting is excellent. Staff very friendly
Over priced small portions rubbish the food was rubbish very very small portions and cost a fortune I would not go back
