The Squirrel Country Pub

Scrolling through groupon today, I saw a deal at this pub for a 3 course set menu at £30 for 2 people. Having not been yet, hubbie and I decided to try it out with the pooch in tow. I booked online prior to arrival and arrived in good time, as it's just off the A3. Initial impressions were very good. Lovely looking gastropub, in the countryside and plenty of parking. A warm welcome was waiting for us inside and we were quickly shown to our corner table and a bowl of water was provided straight away for the dog. Nice touch. Haven't been to this restaurant in a while but was not disappointed. The staff were charming, friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The sea bass with white wine sauce was sublime, and the desserts were good, although not homemade which was a bit disappointing after such an amazing main course. The restaurant was small and cool, but well-ventilated which made me feel safe. I will definitely be returning to try new dishes, as the chef is truly fabulous.

We had a Groupon voucher for the set lunch at this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The food, especially the liver, was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly, and we were impressed with the variety of choices on the set lunch menu even without the voucher. We would definitely recommend this place.

We decided to revisit The Squirrel after hearing that it has new owners, and we were not disappointed. The food and service were excellent, and we will definitely be coming back and recommending this lovely pub to others.

Delicious main meal and dessert, staff is very kind and service is more than excellent. All perfect. Absolutely nice experience, warmly recommended!!
