Lovely pub, staff are great and very welcoming and polite. We eat here often because hubby loves the fish and chips but this is the first Sunday lunch we've had as a family. Can't fault it, fabulous value for money, portions are very large and the meat was beautiful, the beef melted in the mouth as did the pork...and the crackling was cracking . The lemon and passionfruit cheesecake is homemade and delicious, the chocolate brownie is also a must have for any chocolate fan . Only downside is my eyes are too big for my belly and i think im going to pop!! will definitely be returning as Sunday lunch visitors. 10/10
We have passed this pub many times but never ventured in until we read reviews on TA last night and have to say we wasn’t disappointed today a good menu offering traditional food and Mexican Korean sandwiches something for everyone we was met with a cheery smile from the barmaid who took our drinks order whilst we chose our food we both went for beef casserole which was plentiful and freshly cooked while we waited reasonably priced a traditional pub friendly staff pleasant atmosphere would definitely come back
Quaint little pub which I have to admit surprised me. Stopped for a quick bite to eat, expected the standard pub menu so was surprised with what we presented with. Ordered the chicken platter, which came out much more fancier than I was expecting. Beautiful food, so well cooked and flavoured and beautifully presented. Compliments to the chef. We will definitely return.
Probably the worst Sunday lunch I have ever had. I only came because a friend recommended the place. Not a place I would normally go to. Not fresh yorkshires. Soggy parsnips. Lumpy mash and old potatoes used for not crispy roasties. The best thing about the meal was the carrots. And the wine was awful. Will not be returning.

Me my work colleagues have made this our regular dwelling for a drink a meal after work. Can't help but heap praise on this pub! Not only is the food drink a very competitive price but of the best quality too. The chef informed us that the menu is changing soon. Not that we need any encouragement to return! Fabulous!!
Brilliant lunch today. After finding 6 pubs closed whilst on a bike ride, we were welcomed into the Standard by a helpful, cheery guy and ordered from an extensive menu even though it was 2.30pm. Well done!
The Staff are great and very attentive. Food is well above the average pub selection. The only comment I would make; is the decor is a bit dated and could do with an uplift. Otherwise very enjoyable.
Food was good didn't like the way the person took the order the customer is always right I wanted mash roasties and chicken and he just made a big deal out of it won't be rushing back

The food is amazing! Especially the Korean dishes. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. There is also a large outdoor area at the back. Brilliant place.
