Visited with family recently intending to have lunch before visiting a National Trust property nearby. We made our choices but unfortunately 2 or 3 items were off the somewhat limited menu including, surprisingly, soup. We were served our drinks quickly but then the wait began. When I enquired as to the whereabouts of our food after half an hour, our waiter asked if we 'd like him to check with the kitchen. Yes, we would like, particularly as we had a hungry child in tow We were then told: 'About another 15 minutes ' as our food was currently being prepared. After about 10 minutes I was presented with a finger bowl of warm water and a piece of lemon (I was having the mussels) so quite natura...

On arrival at around 1pm we were told there was a wait for 45min for food and that some choices were off the menu. Thought about going elsewhere and wished we had to be honest. It turned out that around 30-40% of the menu wasn 't available and so with limited choice i ordered something i wouldn 't normally and my wife had 'catch of the day '. The menu was priced a little high ie £18 for fish and chips. Really? Sometime after ordering i was informed that the dauphinoise potatoes from my choice were not available and that i would get roast potatoes! So i had limited choice to start with and then a make do meal. What?? My venison was just luke warm and my wife was quite disappointed with her fi...

Lunch for 2 adults and children. Disappointing and poor value for money. Asked if we could have bacon sandwich for our granddaughter rather than a BLT.. a definite yes. 2 slices thin white bread and minimum very well cooked bacon. Fish finger sandwich same 2 slices thin white bread with salad garnish.. packet fish fingers not fresh fish. Complained when given bill as charged full BLT price. Apparently our fault for not having the full item from the menu. Reduced to £8 which is still a huge over price. Triple cooked chips £4.25 … actually frozen fries. We appreciate the need to pay a fair price, this was so overpriced! Don’t go out for lunch to be made to feel like we were Shouldn’t be made t...

Terrible experience we had a table booked for 12:30 with friends and two under 5 's... it took 1.5hrs for our food to arrive despite repeated request for he kids food to be brought out at least. The waitress advised it would be another ten minutes 3 times and then said it was the children 's chicken that was taking so long. when the food did arrive, the chicken was so over cooked it looked like it had burnt skin attached, even though it was skinless and instead of providing extra gravy with the sausage and mash in a side dish like any other establishment they poured the entire amount in a bowl, so you couldn 't actually see the potato or sausage and instead we had a gravy soup! There was no... Book a table now

Nice interior, friendly service, good selection of beers and ales as one would expect from Fullers, but the food ordered at 3.00 p.m on Sunday afternoon was just average. In fact, trying to find something other than sweet treats in Petworth was very hard. I had baked mushrooms with some salad leaves. The dish was very greasy as in addition to cheese there was too much dressing. The dish appeased my hunger but was disappointing.

Called in for a lunch whilst passing but if doing so again I would pass by and find an alternative. I ordered baked ham which was quite dry and my companion ordered roast chicken which comprised of two pieces of anaemic looking, tasteless, small drumsticks and thighs. The vegetables were equally disappointing. The meals did not warrant the price.

Went in around 15.00 for 2 Sunday Roasts, couldn't of wanted for a better meal in a better environment. Smart, clean tasteful old school pub restaurant with friendly, warm helpful staff. Looks small from the outside but cleverly extended inside with a sympathetic nod to the age style of the building. Highly recommended place if in Petworth.

Absolutely awful staff and the service. I was the witness of a drunk manager swearing and abusing customers on a Saturday night. They won’t even say hello to you once you walk in. Drinks are served in dirty glasses. Someone needs to fire the staff and focus on hiring people that are professional! Book a table now

Walked in to an empty pub with two members of staff busy behind the bar doing whatever. One of them noticed me and said to other, “customer waiting to be served” to which the other responded without looking round “they will just have to wait!” Not impressed and needless to say, I didn’t wait.
