The venue is lovely, the decor and atmosphere were almost perfect. We went on May Day bank holiday to the 99p Gastro event (mains for 99p with a full price starter and dessert. The salt and pepper quid starter tasted great, portion sizes left room for improvement, and could have had a nice dipping sauce, but was crispy and well tempered. I ordered the belly pork, imagining a juicy pork meat and crispy scored cracking. What I received was a slightly dry meat, and wet, floppy, tasteless skin topping. No scorring, no salt, nothing resembling crackling at all. The gravy and the mash were lovely, but that didn’t make up for it. There was two instances of this on the table and it was just overall...
Google maps says this place is dog friendly. It definitely isn't. They refused to take our dogs in to the pub whilst we had a meal. They claim to be a country inn. I've never come across a country inn that refuses to take dogs. This place is rubbish we won't be darkening their doors again
