We have recently been to The Star and had a couple of meals. I really enjoyed the pie's They are really tasty and filling with a great portion. The staff are friendly and helpful Great atmosphere in the Inn Also I've taken my staff for a drink and it's nice to find somewhere you can just relax. Plenty of seating inside and out with a play area for the little ones. Easily located just out of Wakefield on the Batley rd Good sized car park Definitely worth a try It is a good place to walk to as there are plenty of countryside walks locally
Went for a meal and ordered two beef and onion sandwiches. The beef tasted and smelt off. The meat looked a grey colour. Informed the waitress and was offered another meal, which we declined. Both meals were left fully. We left and was still charged full price. Personally think the customer service when it comes to poor meals which weren’t eaten and being charged full price is pretty ridiculous. Had one bite and the taste still hasn’t left my mouth. Would never go back.
As locals we booked a table to support a local business. But it was a waste of time. We booked a table and were seated on time. It was 20mins before our order was taken and we left 45 mins later with no further interaction with the staff. We explained we were unhappy and were leaving. It was disappointing that restaurant staff offered no apology. It should be noted that bar staff, under different management, were very good throughout. We won't be going back.
Probably chose the worst evening to visit when restaurant/kitchen was short staffed but instead of letting diners know what was going on (found out via their post the next day on facebook), they tried to cram everyone in and then had people waiting over 2 hours for food to arrive. A number of tables walked out. It's a shame because the food was nice (not up to Tingley balti usual standard), but still OK.

A lovely little pub. They’ve just opened an Indian restaurant called Star Balti and the food was fantastic. The owner came out to chat with us to make sure we were happy and the staff were all lovely. Would highly recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
