We are regular customers at The Swan and usually love the food and atmosphere. However, when we visited yesterday at 4.30 to celebrate our son's birthday with our family, we were disappointed. We had to wait until 5pm for our table, which was not ideal. The food did not meet the usual standard, with the starters being the best part of the meal. The main courses were lukewarm and the vegetables were inedible. Additionally, the food arrived at different times and we even had to wait until almost 8pm for desserts. Went to the Swan on the 22nd October...we decided to have Breakfast as we dropped Balloons and a Birthday Cake of..as we also booked a Table for my Daughter Birthday Celebration the same Day. The Breakfast we had I returned it back to the Kitchen as the Food was Cold....but also the Roast Dinner we had in the Afternoon on the Same Day same Issues.....the Food was Cold so sent the Food back to the Kitchen... We all ordered Coffee after the Meal and we waited so long we complained again... Please sort the Issues out as it is a Lovely Venue and we have had Decent Food on Previous Occasions
We had a lunchtime meal with our family at this restaurant, it was our first visit since the renovation. The place looks amazing, although we were not sure about the pink lights. Our server, Ryan, was very friendly and efficient. He double-checked our orders and made sure we were satisfied. Prices have gone up since our last visit and some dishes do not include vegetables which are an additional charge. However, everyone enjoyed their food, which was prepared and served promptly. Overall, we had no complaints.
Terrible experience at this restaurant. The coffee was lukewarm and overly sweet, despite being told that no sugar was added. The suet pudding I ordered was dry and hard, and I was later informed that it was supposed to be a suet pie. When we received the bill, I was charged for syrup in my coffee, explaining the excessive sweetness. Overall, the service and food were both disappointing. It's a shame because the setting of the restaurant was nice.
