While they offered to make a new one, there was no option for a refund. However, I'm really glad we decided to try this place! We ordered takeout — spaghetti and meatballs. It came with three medium-sized homemade meatballs, a generous portion of pasta, fantastic seeded bread, a refreshing side salad, and even a dessert! What more could you want? Called to place order for chicken pot pie while I was at work and told them I’d be there 4 . I ordered two quarts . I get there the owner was so rude to me after driving an hour away to get the food I heard it was pretty good. Mind you I’m 8 months pregnant .. I even called when I was on my way to remind them I was still coming. He said I ordered 4 quarts I responded no I ordered 2 he told me “No you didn’t you ordered 4” I responded no I didn’t I ordered two. He said well I put it back because you didn’t come. We only had cocktails during our first visit, but the atmosphere was delightful, and the staff was cheerful and energetic. Update: We returned for a late lunch/early dinner and were impressed! The red clam chowder was outstanding—an interesting blend of Manhattan and Rhode Island styles. The clams casino and stuffed mushrooms, packed with crabmeat, were excellent. There’s also a small salad bar featuring bread and a selection of desserts. For our main course, we ordered a seafood pot served with garlic linguine. The dish was full of seafood, though the lobster tail was a bit overcooked. Still, the flavor was fantastic. We definitely plan to come back!
I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely The Towne is. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu!
