Our annual meet up as a group of friends long since left school takes us to a night out with pre meal drinks and an evening catching up. For the past three years we met at the Vine and previously, hense returning, it was good. This year we met to be confronted with a bar manager who regularly vapes at the end of the bar and more seriously a group of four at a table near where we were standing puffing away. Us moving away was not an option. For those of us with respiratory problems and with those who genuinely find inhaling an obnoxious unknown smelly substance something to be avoided we stay away from anything that is an unkown risk. Apart from that the smokiing ban was imposed for a reason....
I will always understand that bars will invite all Sorts and on a busy weekend, you’ve been warned, it’s hideously packed, and there are queues and waits both to get in and once you are in too. On arrival on a busy and late Saturday night after dinner, we arrived to find someone falling over the barrier outside the bar and onto the pavement. While we have been there and done that, it’s not great to see when people can’t handle a drink. Not that this is the bars fault. It was heaving inside, to the point you couldn’t even see the bar. Even the security man said it was a nightmare and when leaving 3 mins later, he said good call! It was at least 6 deep the entire length of the bar, no standing...
The security staff at this restaurant are absolutely horrible and repulsive. They are small-minded individuals who abuse their power and treat customers poorly. One of my friends was violently assaulted by a bouncer and ended up in the hospital after being arrested under unclear circumstances. It should have been the bouncer behind bars instead! My friend suffered a broken arm, head injuries, and was vomiting after the attack. It is appalling that the bouncer barely had a scratch, while my friend was left severely injured. This establishment really needs to reconsider who they hire for security. The bouncers looked like they were ready for combat, but their behavior was despicable and devoid...
The restaurant may be lively at night with music and crowds, but during the day it is dull. The outside seating is decent, but the experience is ruined by cigarette smoke from nearby tables. The inside seating area is in desperate need of a cleaning, with dust on the seats and a dirty floor. There is no atmosphere during the day, and the only food available is from a nearby chip shop. It seems odd that the food has to be brought over from across the street. Overall, it is not recommended to eat and drink here during the day, but it may be tolerable for a late-night drinking session.

I went out with a couple of friends, two of whom were new to the pubs and bars in Leigh. After visiting a few other places, we ended up at The Vine. I was out of breath from the walk up the hill, but we were greeted by Lynn and Sherman at the door. We had a nice chat with them and learned some useful tips. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere inside was lively, with people enjoying themselves and watching others. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.
I recently went here for a friends engagement celebratory night out. We had a VIP area and the only down side was it wasnt clear it was a VIP area so we had a few ransoms sit down. Apart from that it was a lovely evening. The drinks were reasonable and the staff friendly. I would recommend getting there earlyish as it's very popular and gets very busy.
Came here after a brunch on a Saturday, had a large jug of pimms and found a nice seat on large sofas. Staff were really nice and it was lovely and clean in there nice seating area outside when it’s hot
This place seems to have lost it way. Large bar area. The staff are not the friendliest. A good selection of drinks but head to other places if your looking for a fun happy atmosphere

Absolutely brilliant night out Saturday! Went back Sunday for some quiet drinks. Met Lynn the manager great fun and very friendly!
