Vintage steakhouse was a huge disappointment from start to finish. Wait time, food quality, time it took to get each course of food out to us, and busing table service were all TERRIBLE. First, our email confirmed reservation for 7 was not in their system. I showed the hostess my phone w/ confirmation but it still took her 20 minutes to seat us seating other people ahead of us. Our waiter was as super nice guy so that is one big positive. It took forever to get appetizers. Then it took forever to get our main meal. Then it took forever to get our dessert. My favorite affordable steakhouse in Orange County is The Vintage. It's located right by the San Juan Capistrano Train Station, where you can nearly reach out and touch the trains as they arrive and depart from the large picture window. I absolutely love their amazing filet mignons, which are always cooked to perfection, especially when paired with their Wild Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce. I'm also quite fond of their Creamed Corn. The Bone-in Filet is a standout option when it's on the menu. The service is consistently excellent and comes with a smile.
Over the years, we have enjoyed many meals here, often taking advantage of Groupons for their four-course offerings. The entire menu boasts fantastic options, and even their limited Groupon menu has a wonderful selection. I highly recommend focusing on the meat dishes, as our only disappointing meal was the fish, which wasn't fresh when we visited on Thursday night. The train car seating is a delightful experience, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates a well-prepared meal.
We had a wonderful dinner and truly enjoyed ourselves. It was fascinating to watch the trains passing by alongside the dining car in the vintage train. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Both desserts were outstanding. Since it was a Friday night, our meal did take a while to arrive, but we weren't in a hurry, so it was perfectly fine. Overall, it was a great experience, and we will likely return, even though it's an hour's drive (especially in traffic).

The filet mignon was fabulous but the venison was so-so. Great presentation. Nice variety of vegetables. This was a late Valentine celebration so it wasn't too crowded. The dessert was great too. I just can't remember the name except it was named after the restaurant and was first on the list. Very light and tasty.
The Vintage was once fabulous, but unfortunately, it seems to have lost its focus in the kitchen. The boiled meats were improperly prepared, and the cuts of meat were of poor quality. It used to share some similarities with Gemmell's in Dana Point, which continues to excel in its offerings.
Food was delicious. Weny for the Sunday brunch and was surprised just how wonderful everything was. Service was excellent our server Tony was wonderful as we're all the other servers as they would always stop to see if we needed anything... Would definitely recommend it!
The service and staff were great. The food is another story. We ordered steak medium. It was served blood red. Not only was the steak too red, it was tough. Both steaks were ordered the same. Both were too red and tough. The flavor was great though!
