Decided to go with a friend for lunch as we fancied a nice hot meal and another friend had recommended here. Did not disappoint I got the giant Yorkshire pudding with chips and chicken. The Yorkshire wasn’t homemade but the chips were. Was lovely and hot though. My friend got scampi chips peas and salad. She got 6 pieces of scampi The meal was 2 for £8.85 and was worth that price. Tea was only 80p they have a good choice of sandwiches, dinners most of which are home cooked) they do a roast meal on the deal price above. £4.00 if you a pensioner Will recommend as not many places nowadays do nice hot home cooked meals

During my time in college, I enjoyed spending leisurely hours at this restaurant, engaging in casual conversations with the local postmen over cheese and onion crisps. The bar is well-stocked with affordable prices, and they also serve food during lunchtime. The menu offers a variety of options, with most items priced at just a few pounds. I often indulged in their chip butties, which were a steal at £1.50. Although it's tucked away in the town center, the Vulcan is worth a visit for a quiet drink or a game of pool.

This restaurant offers predictable but satisfying options, like £2 mince beef with gravy for lunch and local favorite Beryl on Friday nights. It used to be a popular spot for postal workers, with cheap beer, a pool table, and karaoke on Fridays. Despite its reputation, I've always found it to have a welcoming atmosphere and have never witnessed any trouble, despite some people choosing to avoid it.

This is in a side street in Huddersfield centre but so glad I found it, a very decent traditional pub with pub grub, I didn't sample, but it looked and smelled good and reviews on here are very good at at a decent price. A locals pub but certainly not unfriendly, a small choice of decent real ales at a decent price. Book a table now

I ordered a Sunday roast on my way home from Scarborough for takeout, and I must say it was fantastic value for money. You could tell it was homemade and delicious, and the dessert was fabulous. Thank you, I will definitely be ordering again.

I used to frequent this restaurant often during my college years and always had a great time. I loved chatting with locals, even the postmen, and found the atmosphere at the bar to be very welcoming and enjoyable.
