The red wine sauce paired with a juicy Rib-eye steak is a must-try for meat lovers. I can't stop thinking about it a day later, my mouth is still watering. The atmosphere at the restaurant is lovely, cosy, and traditional with a warm feel. It's also great for people-watching outside. The service was professional and I had a nice chat with Sharon, the Owner. This place is a hidden gem and I'm already looking forward to my next visit in a few months. I was torn between trying something new or sticking with the steak and sauce, but I made the right choice because it was absolutely delicious. Our experience at this restaurant was inconsistent. Our first meal was amazing, with unique and seasonal menu items such as razor clams. I raved about it to everyone. However, our second visit was disappointing. The menu was ordinary and the steak turned out to be a minute steak, very thin. When I asked for it cooked a certain way, I was told it was too thin to be cooked as requested. It's a shame because we had such a great start! I wouldn't be encouraged to go back.
One of the best steaks I've ever tasted. At £25 it was worth every penny. We had a family meal, kids menu classics to keep our 5 year old happy, and the adult menu has excellent options. We had the mussels to start with lasagne and steak to follow. The steak was perfectly cooked, and the jus was a retro nod to oxo, but a surprisingly fabulous addition. Lasagne was rich and tasty. Triple cooked chips left everyone wanting more.
Nice wee place in Clarkston with a lovely atmosphere. We have been here a few times and for the most part the food is lovely. There however have been a couple of exceptions to that. We had a Cheesecake which was overly heavy and salty and lamb two ways which was extremely fatty. Pricing is slightly on the high side for the portion sizes.
