Wandering around Garstang on a very cold afternoon looking for something to eat we where drawn by the sign outside claiming The best food in Garstang A bold claim and surely worth a look just for their confidence alone? First impressions where good, lovely and...warm with enough customers in to suggest it must be OK. Only downside for us was the amount of televisions in the place but I suppose pubs have to do anything they can these days to maintain trade. Building itself is charming, low ceilings, wood beams and a real traditional pub feel. Nice thats its independent and not part of a microwave meals pub chain. We both ordered the Black and blue burgers which arrived via a polite, lovely yo...

my family and I visited the wheatsheaf in garstang, lancashire tonight, for an early motherday celebration to find our experience an unpleasant one! the personal, especially the owner was extremely rude and unprofessional. my sister ordered peri peri huhn with shallow bread....to be burned with a small, hard crusty brotrolle (only suitable for suppe) and the chicken burned and oily, my darling order a mixgrill. to be supplied with hard, although meat, my brother ordered a cheesy garlic bread. to revive garlic bread without cheese (at that time with a burned cheese garlic bread delivered in the replacement), I asked for a vegetarian burger that they don't order a black aubergine and bun chili...

before this time we had several meal times at the weizenkeef. a Sunday dinner. the personal seemed really rude, we should have known it at that time! the roasted bark. it came with burned yorkshire pudding and bark meat that I asked for a steak knife to cut no chance! I also had a big cord in bark a big problem when you registered blind) we talked to the waitress and told her about all the problems, it was obvious when all foods were left on our tellers. she cried her shoulders and went away. I'm not even sorry. we will never return to the weizenkeef and we will advise others of our experience.

clueless landlord moaned after complaining about raw meat and said that somewhere else next time to go! he said he had gone out of the way to pamper us (at the end of the day paying adult, most of the space would fit for you if she. this is a reason why we do not complain about burt food! not a single applology or something. shocking hospitality. Another family visit to The Wheatsheaf. It’s a real good pub with excellent home cooked food. It’s not fancy pretentious, it’s just does what a good pub should do. I had chilli nachos garlic bread, all very good massive portions. Service is...very good too prices are excellent. Highly recommended.

No frills pub, cosy comfortable, definitely not a “sparkly chrome” boozer. Service good food served quickly. Garlic bread to start, very good. Beef chilli nachos as main, massive portion very tasty. Couple of drinks each, my wife had tuna sandwich chips which she enjoyed, £40 great value!

We haven’t been to Garstang for years, decided to call in the Wheatsfeaf for some lunch. Easy to park, received a warm welcome and served some nice ales. Food was superb, very much enjoyed our visit, will definitely return.

What a cracking pub. Wish we had eaten here instead of just drinks. The pub is charming and so welcoming. Friendly staff and a lovely approach to customer service. A gorgeous smile from the lovely bar lady said it all. Book a table now

carefully the cash prices are the most expensive....so expensive had to ask manager for price control. and they have the wange to advise the customers who are pub closed. I'm not surprised when they tear you off
