originally referred to as buck’s head, the pub was rebuilt around 1898/1900 and operated by hoares brewery until 1933 when they were taken over by charringtons. it was renamed in 1990 in the white lions of mortimer when it was taken over by wetherspoons who had the pub until 2018. I visited the pub on Sunday, 26 juli 2020. of the three inputs two are now used as a one-way system for kovid. the entrance is now located on the side of the pub opposite the Islamic center of Mitcham. there is a hand cleaning dispenser on the right side as they go in and a table in front of them with the registration sheet for nhs test and trace. the entrance is not in the entrance, and the exit is now the double...

I have visited the pub now twice to fall the equipment for gigs at the weekend, but must say I love the mood and energy of this facility. this is a fairly biased review, as I am friends with people who work there, and I am a member of the same company that offers their entertainment on a Friday night. but, spacious and bright the mix of tables, chairs and sofas give the pub a really cozy and welcoming atmosphere and the personal are always very friendly and accomodating to the hunters. can not wait to be in the position to be vinnie for a gig very soon to see the pub in full Friday / Saturday mode.

Amazing staff in the White Lion. Adam the manager is the best in this establishment for a very long while. Sue tracey, fantastic servers. Cheery and happy to chat with locals. Nothings too much trouble. All the staff make this pub the one to visit if your in Mitcham. It needs a menu but the choice of drinks is great and the theme events will make you want to go in there, time and time again.

The Guinness is on point and as it was a football discussion meeting of 2 team members, I highly recommend this pub. Spacious and airy and good for keeping the 2 metre distance rule. There is a large screen so watching sports is possible whilst having a drink. You can have a glass of water with ice, which is nice to know!

This place is extremely cheap for food and drinks! Not the most vibrant pub that I've set foot in but it absolutely does the job if you want to keep the bank account happy, whilst catching up with friends.

really big public house, with really friendly people, music on a Friday night is super, habitual dj, which reads the crowd makes it a great night for everyone
