I took my wife to this restaurant for our 20th anniversary on November 13th biggest disappointment. I rate The Yard “the Most… “ The Most Disappointing restaurant in Birmingham AL. . I would never recommend this restaurant for a friend who is looking for fine dining. A good joke on a friend of my enemy? Perhaps!!! My wife ALWAYS pick the best restaurant/ hot new spots. And I was praying this spot would give ME a WIN, NOPE! We ordered and a small plate app, The Caesar salad, Bourbon tomato soup, butternut squash risotto and some sort of chicken dinner, and an international bottle of wine. Let me start with the atmosphere- PERFECT! Great for cute date night photos to post to Instagram or just...

I stopped by to eat here again as I picked up a 20% off coupon. On the way in I had the honor of running into the executive chef and thanked her for the delicious food from my prior visits. I was given multiple menus and poured over them for a while before deciding on Steak Greens for an entree and a Spring Smash cocktail. They were both incredibly delicious and I enjoyed every sip and bite. I went a bit all out and tried out panna cotta for the first time. Unsurprisingly, it was rich in flavor and melted in my mouth. I'll admit that service had been iffy the past few times I've visited, but this time it was courteous and speedy. I believe my server's name was Eric he was patient while I loo...
My husband had the red snapper and he said it was delicious. I had the New York Stip with fingerlings. We both had drinks. It was $225. They were running a 5 course meal special for $100 per person. We probably should have took that route because just ordering off of the menu did not seem like an option. We stayed there and ate because we didn't feel like going back out and it was late. Portion sizes were large. The service was great but the menu was very limited. I was a bit disappointed but the awesome breakfast the next morning made up for it! A full breakfast (bacon, conecuh sausage, cheddar grits, huge biscuit with fresh preserve and butter, two eggs and potatoes for $16 a piece on a $5...
The food at this restaurant was impressive, featuring a distinct and creative twist. For instance, the fried okra was not the typical breaded and cut-up variety; instead, it was sliced and expertly fried, making it truly delicious. The salmon was exceptional, definitely the highlight of the meal! While I waited at the bar for my food, the bartender was engaging, friendly, and delightful to talk to. Overall, the service was excellent, and the food surpassed my expectations. I highly recommend dining here. On my return visit, I encountered a new team that was just as wonderful. They truly embody the essence of Southern hospitality! Book a table now
The prices were a bit shocking, but I managed to move past that and ordered the salmon. It was prepared quite simply, yet it was one of the best pieces of salmon I've ever tasted. How do chefs manage to cook fish so that it's perfectly moist all the way through? Maybe it's the low-temperature roasting technique. In any case, it was fantastic and served hot, just like the rice pilaf that came with it, which had green beans and Brussels sprouts mixed in. The rice was light and fluffy, perfectly separate. How do they do that? Excellent!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND My fiancé took me here for one of our date nights and it was amazing. The atmosphere, setting, location and overall experience was exceptional. The menu options are vast (it?s never the same so I appreciate that), and their drink menu is vast as well. Our food was delicious as well as our dessert. Our waitress was real attentive and informative. We are returning when we have the time.

Lovely space in downtown Birmingham This was a post brunch stop for a cup of coffee. I did have to wait a few minutes after entering before being greeted, but I’ll give allowances since it was a bit early and they may have been setting up. On the other hand, I did get a great table with a window view! Book a table now
Charming atmosphere in downtown Birmingham. I stopped by for a cup of coffee after brunch. I had to wait a few minutes before being greeted, but I understand it was early and they might have been preparing for the day. On the bright side, I ended up with a fantastic table by the window!
