It was a 90 degree weather day which obviously calls for an ice cream stop after walking around Georgetown and shopping. Thomas Sweet is a classic that I've heard so many good things about, and finally got to try it out.Since it was so hot, of course there was a line outside their building. There's both outdoor and indoor seating available, but luckily we were able to grab an inside table to escape the heat. We loved the ice last time we were over! While the restaurant could definitely use an interior upgrade, they really deliver on the ice, taste and aromas. Above the entire counter is a table of all kinds of flavors they have. There were so many interesting taste names and types apart from the normal. We had the butter bricks and the coffee chocolate (forgot the exact name) flavors. The butterstone had a sweet butter cream flavor with light notes of caramel and butterscotch. The coffee and chocolate ice cream was also particularly good with all the right espresso notes! I am sure there are many other beautiful flavors to choose, and have I mentioned that they give massive pots?
Ice cream was good, but the service was abysmal. Three guys who leaned against the back machines. Place was jammed on a nice Thur night. We went back on Friday afternoon. It was clear that they had some new family members working who spoke little English. I ordered a large size, which was too much to eat at one sitting. I asked for a takeaway container and they refused; they acquiesced, but wanted to charge me 50cents. I said words to the effect of, I just spent 25 and u won 't give me a cup? At that point they gave me a cup and lid, but said 'only this one time (crazy, given that the place is a mine) . I WILL DEFINITELY NOT GO BACK

They were unfortunately out of quite a few flavors but they have a lot to choose from to begin with. It would've been nice to have signs on the menu when they run out of a certain flavor or item. The prices are also a little higher than I like but I'll have to go back and try more flavors to see if it's worth it.What we got:Bittersweet milkshake 5* really great flavor. The dark chocolate is not too sweet and is really perfect. It was a great shake to sip and enjoy.
Really great ice cream, wide selection and prompt service. I’m surprised no one mentioned the sizing system in the reviews. It’s crazy because everything is not as it seems. If you ask for a small it will be huge, if you ask for a large it will be tiny. It seems like a practical joke but it’s not. It’s weird because they point to the cup sizes and ask small medium or large and then give you a completely different cup then the one they just pointed at. Super weird
There's a line outside this place, and honestly, I don't understand the fuss over the ice cream. It doesn't seem anything special to me. They charged us an extra 30 cents for each cone simply because we asked to have our ice cream served in a cup with the cone on top! I'm baffled by all the hype. Plus, there are hardly any options for those who can't have milk; the only choice is sorbet, which is pretty standard. They don't even offer any dairy-free ice cream.

This place was terrible; I would never recommend coming here. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that the workers weren't wearing gloves, which was very concerning. They were also quite rude, making the experience even worse. Additionally, many of the toppings had flies on them. However, I have to admit that the ice was not bad.
Great ice cream! Always a must have if your in Georgetown craving a nice ice cream. My go to order is the coffee ice cream and it takes delicious service is great! I recommend not going at night if you don't want a line but it's pretty busy during the summer but the line is fast.
