Myself and my partner went for the first quiz night since the reopening and were so impressed with the quality of our experience. The building is beautiful inside and out, and you can tell that a lot of time and care has been taken to...deep clean and revamp this gorgeous and historic venue. The food was amazing; we had the hunters chicken and the bbq beef brisket burger, honestly we didn't leave a bite! Totally recommended the food here, the new chefs are brilliant! Claire and the team have done a fantastic job turning the place around and creating a clean, warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who comes in. Plus dogs are welcome which is a bonus.
I visited recently with my partner as we'd heard the place is under new management and it was recommended to us. The building is really lovely! We liked it straight away. There's lots of history in the place and it's very interesting to look around....The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. The food was really well prepared, tasty and plentiful. The drinks selection at the bar was great, real ales being my thing. The terrace overlooking the canal basin looks great so my partner and I are looking forward to an evening eating out by the water in the warm weather, as we can watch the boats come and go. A really nice place indeed.
Really disappointed with the food here, really poor quality and clearly not a restaurant with a chef, just a cook. You read the menu and drool with how it reads, then the food comes and it is just heated, badly cooked (steaks) tasteless food. We...did explain to the server how poor the food was when they came to ask but nothing happend. We even mentioned it to the manager after paying and was told yes we know the steaks are poor quality but the brewery wont let us change them Great thanks for that! Shame as it is a great place, defo go and have some drinks and maybe a snack just consider going elsewhere for your lunch or dinner.
Disregard the reviews from last year, as the new owners have a great menu and delicious food. I was impressed by the quirky and historic features of the restaurant from my visits years ago. I decided to bring my family for a visit and we were impressed during our afternoon stop, so we returned for dinner. The large, open log fire in the old barn was welcoming on a cold February/March day. The real ale and good wines paired well with our meal. I look forward to returning in the summer to enjoy the outdoor seating area with a view of the canal.

Came to this pub today beautifully placed next to canal, seating outside which it good for a drink and nice views, but since it was cold and we were hungry decided to sit indoors, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated immediately, was quiet...busy lovely atmosphere. I had chosen steak for my meal and other family members had burgers and a back bacon chop, all the food was delicious, portion size perfect, was tempted for dessert, but was to full haha. Me and my family will be visiting again soon.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. The welcome was warm, the food was fantastic, and the chef even came out to explain the delicious dishes to us. I highly recommend trying the chicken strips with the amazing gravy—it's even better than the popular takeaway chicken brand. Overall, it was a great experience with friendly staff, a great selection of beers, and fabulous food. I would give it a five-star rating. Andy Shell.
Absolutely beautiful building very clean an welcoming. Food was delicious. The new menu is jam packed with loveliness. Gluten free an vegan choices available. Staff were so friendly an helpful nothing was to much for them would definitely recommend an will most definitely be back!!...
My first visit to this awesome oldly worldly pub.. The staff were so very friendly and welcoming and I was made to feel welcome.. The food was great value for money and the Surf Turf was to die for as the steak was cooked...to perfection.. Hats off to the Chef..

The restaurant greeted us warmly and had an intriguing menu with delicious food. The ambiance was unique and the service was both efficient and friendly. We couldn't find any flaws with this restaurant.
Having been here a few times, the food and atmosphere is good. The staff are feindly and the food is top notch. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
