I have dropping into this cafe for years and have always been happy, recommending it to others. On my last visit we were met with a really grumpy unpleasant english woman. No hello, no smile, no nothing. I wouldn't want her working for me i hope she is a volunteer at least). I have to echo previous reviews and can only assume it was the same person. `she dumped two mugs on the table, one coffee, one tea. We had to taste and swap to find out which was which. The tea was bearable but the coffee was sipped and left. No point complaining if she doesn't even know how to make it in the first place. By this time she got on my nerves and I spoke to her deliberately to force her to converse. Still no...
Stopped off for lunch around 13:00hrs on Wed 23rd Oct. Table service offered as per notice at the counter. Women behind me eventually got served, l did not. Middle aged waitress was more interested in talking with other staff. I waited, but was ignored She knew I was waiting and they weren’t busy either) . Eventually all staff disappeared into the kitchen. After 20minutes l know, too long) I had to ring the bell for service. Finally got served. Potato Leek soup was so-so. Poor atmosphere and l could not wait to leave. Someone was having a bad day, and I think I got the brunt of it. Arrochar is a beautiful place, but it’s spoilt by this attitude. Won’t be back. Nothing more to say.
We had a late lunch here after a long stroll round the village. The food was great, particularly the home made soup! We sat outside to eat and were served by a very friendly lady! We did, however, encounter one problem dogs are allowed and a very selfish couple sitting on the next table had two with them! Both dogs were untethered and they allowed one of them to roam from table to table looking for food...not good, especially when you don't have a dog of your own!
The cafe is cold temperature wise, as is the welcome. Had to wait to be served, then lady didn’t know what the cakes were, it was half one so presuming she’d sold some cakes that day before me. Food came in stages, to all the tables so you can’t eat together, especially as the food would go cold so quickly. Quality was fine, but not enough to tempt me back My advice- try somewhere else sadly

Simple community run cafe/diner, great value for money. Coffee is very good as were the home made scones. Sandwiches are made fresh to order and great value. Friendly local Ladies doing their thing- marvellous!
This restaurant is the perfect spot for anyone in Arrochar or just passing through. It's a hidden gem that you won't be disappointed with, whether you're stopping in for coffee or trying their delicious pizza.
We arrived at 3:00 PM, which was too late for food service. It was disappointing because the menu looked great. Parking outside was difficult and we also noticed that the restaurant was also a post office.
Popped in here on our way to Campbletown for soup and sandwich!! Lovely wee find may need to pop back in on the way home!! Good food at good prices!! Cakes looked amazing
