On our visit to Maenporth I needed to experience all the fuss over a good pasty. I went with my daughter and found the pasties were not ready because of a recent traffic accident which had delayed the cooking of the pasty.shame! However I pre ordered for the next day and how fortunate I was to do this as they were the most beautifully baked to order pasty I have ever tasted.this small shop is exceptionally clean and i asked to see how the pasties were made.they were most accomadating and showed me the making of a vegetarian pasty. Forget Gingsters try these tickle yer tastespuds pasties. Absolutley brilliant flavours and stayed warm for a long time. Well worth a visit and worth pre ordering.
Ordered some for collection to bring home and they were not a disappointment. It is quite hard to find a decent pasty in Cornwall believe it or not and I am Cornish. However these pasty almost made the grade being very tasty and lots of filling in a quite light pastries case. They failed slightly as not enough beef skirt included in the filling and REAL Cornish pasties have SLICED vegetables not diced as this affects the texture when consuming.
I have tried the pasties at this restaurant a few times now and they are excellent. The staff is very helpful and all the pasties are made and cooked right in front of you. These are the best pasties in the area. I would recommend calling ahead to order to ensure you get them. They have also added a breakfast pasty to their menu, although I have not tried it yet.
