We visited Toast for the first time on New Year 's Eve. I tried not to make much of the somewhat rude/cold greeting when we entered, but it sort of set the mood for the evening. My spouse and I both found the food to be overpriced and unmemorable, with half portions (winter pasta and butternut squash risotto) being really just a few bites not at all a perfect meal for one as the server suggested. Our server was friendly but seemed to have no knowledge whatsoever of either the food or the drinks. It seemed as if she had been quickly trained, as she had trouble pronouncing things on the menu. 6 of 10 things we tried to order the food and drink menu were not available. We eat an app, drink water and leave what was not ideal when I was with an employee who was just in town for a few days. I had one of the cocktails and it was nice and delicious, made with a deft hand. It was disappointing that we couldn't stay.
