Tommy's is a unique breakfast/lunch joint with a diner feel. I have eaten here on several occasions and appreciate the kindness and the speed of the wait staff. Also, it is a large restaurant which can easily accommodate groups and seat a couple hundred folks. I think there were a hundred people there yesterday mid morning. Mostly seniors and the servers remember their names. Also, Tommy welcomed us personally. I ordered the eggs over medium, grits and Pork Chops. The food was hot and plentiful. I hadn 't been here in years but went today for breakfast with some neighbors and enjoyed it. Of course, grits, bacon, toast and a fried egg are pretty standard fare. I prefer my fried eggs OVER WELL. And I always stress REALLY WELL incinerated make it like a Frisbee. I got my overwell this morning and MAN! It was the tenderest overwell I 've ever had and I used to be the home economist for the SC egg board! Excellent job by the line cook. Our waitress was excellent, fun, personable and she pretty much provided a never ending cup of coffee. My cup never emptied because she was so diligent in making sure we were well cared for. I've been to Tommy's once and I plan to return. So this is the kind of place where Fox News run silently on the TV and Tommy knows everybody. Big tables lots of seating and efficient service (ask for what you need but not too much bother). I ordered a typical plate. Service was fast. Food was hot and the order accurate. The food was good in the familiar sense. Bring a group sit down and have a cup of coffee.
Turtle class. This place is got it going on and I had to raise them from a four star to a five star review! The food is awesome the ingredients are real including the fresh ground Celtic sea salt, pepper grinder, real butter shelled eggs. I am very pleased every time I come here found especially love their homemade sausage!
